I agree with John, because the technology is essentially “old” technology, it would make offering the console at $99 a possibility. I’m sure it’s not only Nintendo, but Sony and Microsoft as well, that’s putting their hopes into the profits coming from games and peripherals.

Keeping the price tag on the low side will also get parents, that is, the ones who a) have the money b) will succumb to their little one’s demands; to choose the Revolution over the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 (which are geared towards adult gamers anyway).

It would be a good move for Nintendo to bring out the Revolution at $99, they would definitely get the parents niche market.
