Revolution controller’s secret to be revealed next year: Miyamoto
Further details relating to the Nintendo Revolution controller will be revealed sometime in 2006, according to renowned Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto.

Speaking at the Digital Interactive Entertainment Conference in Japan, Miyamoto teased Revolution enthusiasts everywhere by admitting that the next generation game console’s controller “has many more secrets”, but then went on to say that he wouldn’t be revealing these secrets until next year.
Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima also added to the intrigue with his cryptic comments regarding possible in-game applications for the Revolution’s innovative controller.

Kojima noted that the Revolution controller’s analog-type movement may be useful for a specific style of game or gameplay, but declined to reveal exactly what he was referring to, stating instead that he wasn’t at liberty to say any more about it.
Famitsu president Hirokazu Hamamura did his best to glean a little more information from Miyamoto, casually asking him what kind of functionality gamers could expect from the Revolution controller. Miyamoto then downplayed the controller’s as-yet unrevealed functionality, implying that it perhaps wasn’t such a big deal after all.
Hamamura, however, seemed unconvinced, reminding Miyamoto that he’d adopted a similarly laid-back attitude prior to the initial unveiling of the Revolution controller at TGS 2005.
With talk that Nintendo will be unveiling the Revolution more fully in May 2006 at E3, it’s possible that Miyamoto may also choose this moment to let gamers in on the Revolution controller’s closely guarded secret.
