Approximately 20 titles will launch with the Revolution when it is released around November, according to Nintendo of America VP George Harrison. Of the 20 launch titles, around a third will be first-party games, reports Revolution Report.

Speaking in an interview with Game Informer magazine, Harrison said Nintendo had learnt the importance of making new software available continually throughout the first year of a consoles release.

“The other thing we recognized is that you really make your reputation in the first year. You’ve got to deliver software, not just at launch, but you’ve got to deliver software in the first six to nine months after launch. It has to be solid software,” he said.

“In GameCube, we didn’t have that, we had kind of a drought for six months after it launched. By that time your reputation starts to solidify and it’s hard to reverse that after awhile.”

Harrison also reiterated that Nintendo’s is aiming to sell the Revolution for less than its rival next-gen consoles.

“Our goal is to come in at a slightly more mass market price,” he said, referring to the Xbox 360.

As yet, there has been no confirmation of which games are slated for launch.
